Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install the Confluence macro?
A Confluence admin clicks the installation link, approves the app permissions, and the macro becomes available to all users in that workspace. No code or configuration needed — just search for "Martech Stack Builder" when inserting a macro.
Do embedded diagrams update automatically?
Yes. The embed loads live from your Stack Builder account. When you update your diagram in Stack Builder, the Confluence embed reflects the changes on the next page load — no re-embedding required.
Does it work with Confluence Data Center (on-premise)?
Currently the macro supports Confluence Cloud only. Confluence Data Center support is on our roadmap. In the meantime, you can use the share link URL in a Confluence iframe macro as a workaround.
What data does the macro access?
The macro only reads publicly shared diagram data via a share link token. It does not access any Confluence content, user data, or workspace information. The embed is read-only — viewers cannot edit your diagram.
What's the difference between Pro and Enterprise embeds?
The Confluence embed requires a Pro plan ($29/mo), which gives you clean, professional embeds without watermarks. Enterprise plans add custom branding and whitelabel options — your logo, your colors, zero trace of third-party tools.
Can I embed multiple diagrams on one page?
Yes. Each macro instance embeds one diagram via its share link. You can add as many macros as you need — for example, current state vs. future state architectures side by side.
