General-purpose v1 storage accounts retired 13 October 2026
Affects teams with GPv1 (and legacy Blob storage) accounts that haven't been upgraded. Microsoft will move any remaining accounts to GPv2 automatically, and bills may go up because GPv2 charges for read/write operations. The upgrade can't be undone.
Microsoft will automatically migrate all existing general-purpose v1 accounts to a GPv2 account, which might result in higher billing costs.

TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support removed from Blob Storage
Affects older apps, embedded devices, appliances and other clients that can't use TLS 1.2. They can no longer connect to new or existing Azure Storage accounts in any cloud. The date was pushed back twice before it took effect.
After that date, all clients connecting to Azure Storage services using TLS version below 1.2, will not be able to connect to Azure Storage anymore.
