Quickstart stack
A packaged CDP stack: Tealium at the hub, Salesforce downstream
A buy-not-build stack where the CDP is the hub. One vendor collects the data, unifies it into profiles and builds the audiences; the CRM, the marketing cloud and the ad platforms receive them.

What it is for
Marketing teams that need audiences without waiting on a data team tend to buy this shape. Segments are defined in the CDP interface, profiles update as events arrive, and the connectors to the downstream tools come with the product.
Here the CDP is Tealium (iQ for tags, EventStream for events, AudienceStream for profiles and audiences) and the downstream world is Salesforce: Marketing Cloud for messaging and Sales Cloud for the pipeline.
Why each tool is here
-
OneTrust Consent Management
Consent management. It records what each visitor agreed to and passes that state on, so the tools downstream only collect and use what they are allowed to.
-
Tealium iQ Tag Management
Tag management. Collects events on the site and hands them to EventStream.
-
Tealium EventStream Event Router
The event layer. Enriches incoming events and forwards them to the profile store and to GA4.
-
Google Analytics 4 Analytics & BI
Web analytics, fed from EventStream.
-
Tealium AudienceStream Customer Data Platform
The profile store and audience builder, which is the CDP proper. Every downstream tool gets its audiences from here.
-
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Customer Engagement
Customer engagement: email and journeys, triggered by AudienceStream in real time.
-
The CRM. Receives segment membership, feeds contacts and opportunities to Marketing Cloud, and sends closed deals to Google Ads as offline conversions.
-
Google Ads Advertising
Paid search. Receives Customer Match audiences and offline conversions.
-
Meta Ads Advertising
Paid social. Receives audiences daily.
How data flows
OneTrust passes consent to Tealium iQ. iQ streams tagged events to EventStream, which enriches them and passes them to AudienceStream and to GA4.
AudienceStream is where the routes fan out: audiences reach Marketing Cloud on each event, Sales Cloud hourly, and the ad platforms daily. Marketing Cloud sends engagement back to AudienceStream, so a profile knows what was sent and what happened. Sales Cloud syncs contacts to Marketing Cloud every 15 minutes and reports closed deals to Google Ads daily.

When this is the wrong choice
- Your data team already models customers in a warehouse. Buying a second customer store creates two versions of the truth; the composable quickstart is closer.
- You do not run Salesforce. The value here is the pre-built path into Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud.
- You are early and small. A packaged CDP is a large commitment for a stack that is mostly analytics and one email tool.
